Boston’s Mayoral election is now just 8 weeks away, and Sportsmen’s Tennis & Enrichment Center is preparing to host its second consecutive Mayoral Candidates’ Forum! This is NOT a head to head debate. It’s an opportunity for candidates individually to have an open exchange with members of the community.
Date: Monday, October 9, 2017
Time: Starts at 9:00am (see Forum times below)
Venue: Indoor courts at Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center
Please save the date!
The Mayoral Candidates’ Forum will take place on the indoor courts at Sportsmen’s Tennis and Enrichment Center. There is ample seating, and light refreshments will be served in the lobby.
The Two Front-Runners are In!
Currently, our schedule calls for City Councilor Tito Jackson to join us from 9 to 10 AM. He will have approximately 15 minutes to address the crowd, and then we will open the floor to questions. Immediately following Councilor Jackson, Mayor Marty Walsh is scheduled to join us from 10 AM to 11 AM, following the same format. Should any changes be required due to the results of the primary or urgent City of Boston issues, we will advise as soon as possible.
Let’s Exceed the Turnout in 2013!
We were thrilled to welcome candidates Walsh and Connolly in 2013, and we’re hoping for an even larger turnout this year. We need your help to spread the word! Please RSVP, share this flyer with your networks, and let us know if you can volunteer in any other ways to help us bring an engaged and informed community to the polls in November!
This is an important lesson in civic engagement for our youth. If you’d like to help offset the cost of bringing this event to Dorchester, we encourage you to visit our donate page and safely support this event. Please indicate “Mayoral Forum” on the memo line.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you on October 9th!
